Dr. David King
David King has been a social worker for 30 years providing services in church,
community, and private practice settings. Dr. King holds a Doctorate in Social Work from
Walden University, a master’s in social work from the University of Kentucky, and a
Master's in Pastoral Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary. He is a licensed
clinical social worker in Michigan. Over the course of his career, Mr. King has worked in
serving children and families, and adults with developmental disabilities, chronic mental
illness, and substance use, and co-occurring disorders. Dr. King has been teaching
social work at the graduate level since 2009. He is currently Associate Professor and
Program Director for the MSW program online at Indiana Wesleyan University and is a
therapist in private practice with Great Lakes Psychology Group.
Objectives
1. Participants will identify and describe 10 common ways of thinking that contribute
to anxiety and depression.
2. Participants will explain the importance of boundaries and their impact on anxiety
and depression.
3. Participants will develop strategies to improve their thinking and personal
boundaries to strengthen their mental health.
